Powerguard Belting from Fenner Dunlop

Powerguard is manufactured to be the solution to problematic conveying needs. The combination of Fenner Dunlop's Plylok Supreme carcass, special Power Plus or P³ compounds and a more balanced belt construction greatly reduces downtime and eliminates belting problems in many applications.

Fenner Dunlop's research found there is a growing industry-wide problem regarding durometer creep and plasticizer extraction due to the negative affects of leaching agents. Belt cupping can also be a result of this. Fenner Dunlop has taken the lead by formulating two new rubber compounds to address these problems. Power Plus and P³ are proven rubber compounds for above ground coal handling facilities such as power generation and coal prep plants. Power Plus and P³ are compounded and designed to counter the negative affects of the leaching agents as well as dust suppressants. Fenner Dunlop continually strives to improve belt technology to create cost savings for the customer.

Powerguard is constructed with a minimum 3/32" bottom cover to insure a more balanced belt construction, greatly minimizing the occurrence of cupping and curling in power generating and coal prep plant applications. The result is better tracking and extended life of the conveyor belt.

Powerguard offers superior performance due to the utilization of the Plylok Supreme carcass construction. Plylok Supreme is constructed from polyester warp and nylon fill yarns which yields lower stretch, improved tracking and reduces downtime due to re-splicing and belt break in. The carcass delivers unsurpassed resistance to abrasion, gouging and tearing, while also providing excellent load support and fastener retention. To insure the original integrity of the belt, polyester warp members are used with nylon fill yarns to reduce water absorption resulting in higher adhesions in wet applications than all nylon belts. The reliability and extended life realized from Powerguard adds value and savings to the bottom line. Powerguard is available in 110 PIW, 125 PIW, 150 PIW, 200 PIW and 300 PIW per ply constructions.

Power Plus is a fire retardant compound that meets the Mine Safety and Health Administrations 2-G requirements for flame retardant materials. Power Plus also offers increased resistance to abrasion and cover wear.

P³ is a specially formulated high quality Grade II compound which meets or exceeds the competitive compounds in the market place. P³ has excellent abrasion and cover wear characteristics.
